Nitinol
AGR Matthey Technology supplies Australian manufacturers and engineers with the revolutionary ‘shape memory’ alloy nitinol. A composition of nickel and titanium (NiTi), nitinol is renowned for its unique characteristics of super-elasticity, martensite deformability and thermal memory effect. These incredible properties enable the use of nitinol in a great variety of applications in medical implants and instruments and other applications.
Alloys can be modified to meet customer-specific compositions with austenite transformation temperatures ranging from –25ºC to 120ºC. Supply of nitinol alloys is augmented by certification of tensile properties, transformation temperatures, chemical composition and customer-specific requirements.

Tubing:
-outer diameter ranging 0.125mm to 6.4mm
-wall thicknesses to 0.05mm
Sheet:
-widths of up to 95mm rolled to as low as 18 micron
Wire:
-diameters from 0.025mm to 2mm
-multi-strand and alternate material compositions available
Ribbon and Strip:
-sizes from 0.025mm x 0.05mm to 0.75mm x 10mm
Surfaces:
-amber/brown oxide (wire & ribbon)
